  • Research, research, research. Preparation is the key and the internet offers you heaps of great information about any destination. And you will get new ideas about where to go or what to do.
  • If you need to fly book in advance as you will get better deals and discounts
  • Have your short getaway during the off peak season of the place you are going to
  • Check out package deals, especially if you are planning a city break
  • Make sure everybody that is coming is happy with the destination and there is something there for them to do (nothing worth than boredom)
  • Set yourself a budget and stick to it. Otherwise your cheap short break won’t stay cheap for long.

    For me I like to take my cheap short breaks down at the beach, or up in along the Murray River, especially if its summer time.

    I really love water activities like water skiing, surfing & swimming to keep cool and have loads of fun.
