There is something for everyone this Christmas, and wherever you are in the world there is a great place for a Christmas Break close to you I bet. Here are just some ideas where you can go, depending on what style of Christmas Breaks you would like to enjoy.

White Christmas Breaks

If you love a white Christmas, you definitely have to travel to somewhere in the northern hemisphere, preferably any of the great skiing places. It might not come cheap, but it is a great (and very active) way to enjoy your Christmas Break with the whole family.

And best of all – you can ski nearly everywhere for your Christmas Break, so there is first rate skiing available somewhere close to you.

Try the Alps in central Europe (France, Austria, Switzerland) or Denmark, Canada is stunning that time of the year, the Rockies are famous for their powder snow, or for our Australian friends the Japan Alps are right in your time zone.

Sunny Christmas Breaks

In case you don’t enjoy shovelling snow and putting on layer upon layer of clothing maybe you should opt for a sunny Christmas break.

Head to the sunny beaches of Bali, Goa or Phucket to celebrate a great sunny Christmas. Hawaii or the Caribbean islands also offer you a welcome sunny Christmas break for the whole family.

  4. For the last few years we’ve headed north and gone skiing (my favourite holiday) but this year we’re heading south to the Snowy Mountains to hike. Looking at the forecast, we might even get some snow there!!! What’s happened to summer Australia? :)

  5. I love Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, Australia for Christmas… I’m sort of cheating because I live at the Sunshine Coast and love it all year around. But it’s a great place to go boating on beautiful rivers, beach walk in the evenings and there’s no shortage of wonderful restaurants. OK, it’s not quite New York or Paris… but I did see a number plate recently that said “Paris.New York.London.Buderim”… For anyone who doesn’t live at the Sunny Coast Buderim is a town here!

Great post, thank you for reminding me about all the wonderful places I could go for Christmas!!!
    Lots of love
